About
Our current mission and future vision here at Eudaemonia Equine Connections, Inc.®, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the public with mental health services and scientific inquiry, is through our multiple programs and services to help as many people as we can; especially people who are vulnerable and suffering from the wounds of psychological distress and impairment. In addition to, we hope through advocacy, education, outreach, and research endeavors to assist in increasing local, national, and global awareness, and hopefully increase accessibility, of the benefits and necessity of equine-assisted mental health (EAMH) treatment; and it is our hope to have opportunities to contribute quality research information and dissemination of knowledge in the field of EAMH and human-equine interactions.
EAMH is a specialized psychotherapy treatment that incorporates equines into the therapeutic environment. It is a form of animal-assisted therapy (AAT) that integrates the human–animal bond and relationship with a horse as part of treatment and recovery in psychotherapy.
We cannot serve our mission to assist the public with mental health services with equines and scientific inquiry of humans participating in equine-assisted services alone and rely on staff and volunteers to help service to those in need and may benefit from our clinical treatment and research programs.
If you become a working member of our organization, then you will have an opportunity to participate in the collaborative process of delivering our services; in addition to being part of the unique and fascinating world of horse-human interactions and human-animal bond in EAMH.

Ways to Help Volunteer
Volunteers may be needed in our programs in a variety of capacities with direct services and in remote services. Depending on the program and events, volunteers may be needed for a one-time event, for a period of time, or an on-going basis.
All applications are carefully considered and volunteer training and on-going support are provided.
For direct client services with clients and horses preference is given to those with considerable horse experience to assist with equine handling and safety.
For direct field research preference is given to those with research experience or at minimum a passion and willingness to learn about behavioral research applied to EAMH.

Volunteer Requirements
- Age: 16 years old and up
- Minors who work directly with clients or horses will require parental/guardian consent
- All participants who work directly with minors are required to consent to a background check
Need to Complete Volunteer or Community Service Hours?
If you need volunteer or community service hours required for school, work, etc; then please Contact Us.
We will be able to help you determine if your volunteer or community service hours requirements can be met in one or more of our EEC, Inc.’s programs and services.
It is the future goal of EEC, Inc. to be able to pay volunteers for their time, but we are just opening our doors this year in February 2022 and at this time do not have the ability to pay for most volunteer positions. However, volunteers may be paid as funding or sponsorship comes in and will be notified if this were to occur.
