Who We Are
Eudaemonia Equine Connections, Inc.’s® Journal of Equines for Mental Health is a peer-reviewed academic journal for equine-related mental health research. The journal encompasses horse-human interactions in mental health treatment and research, both nationally and internationally.
Our purpose is to publish peer reviewed original research and literature that is provided as open access—free for all readers—to find the latest and up-to-date resources available in this field.
Why The Need?
Academic publishing is essential to contributing to knowledge, science, and education in a given field and the Journal of Equines for Mental Health is the first journal of its kind that centers around psychology and clinical treatment that includes equines in some capacity. For the past 20 years the exponential growth and popularity of using horses in mental health practices and research has expanded to multiple countries around the world.
Presently, there is a significant need in this field to provide higher standard and quality of original research and source materials to better understand the phenomena of horse-human interactions in a therapeutic capacity; and in turn, the increased need for an entity to review, store, and provide access to new and developing information. Hence, this journal will serve as the world’s leading entity for publishing and contributing pertinent knowledge in this field of interest.
