Why Your Generosity Matters

Imagine being able to make a difference in the lives of individuals struggling with mental health issues. Our nonprofit, Eudaemonia Equine Connections, Inc.® is dedicated to providing life-changing equine-assisted mental health services, research, education, and training to those in need. But we need your help to expand our services and reach even more individuals!

With your donor support, we can move our nonprofit to a larger facility, expand our days of operation, and bring in more therapy horses to provide even more support and care to those we serve. We are committed to providing a diverse, safe and supportive environment for individuals to engage with horses and experience the healing benefits of equine-assisted mental health.

Why Our Horses for Mental Health Programs & Services Matter

Did you know our Oregon community is facing a major mental health crisis?

•According to the Oregon Health Authority, 1 in 4 adults in Oregon experience a mental health condition each year.

•Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in Oregon, and the state’s suicide rate is higher than the national average.

•Oregon has one of the highest rates of depression in the United States.

•The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on mental health in Oregon, with many individuals reporting increased levels of stress, anxiety, and depression.

•The shortage of mental health providers is a significant issue in Oregon, with many individuals struggling to access the care they need. Currently, there is a waitlist of clients interested to receive equine-assisted mental health care for 3-months to a year.

On the positive side, in Oregon, equine-assisted mental health programs and research conducted in Oregon are demonstrating that equine-assisted mental health is effective in improving mental health outcomes for those struggling with a variety of conditions. For example, research conducted in Oregon has found that equine-assisted mental health sessions have resulted in a reduction in post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms, a decrease in depression and anxiety, and improved relationship satisfaction. The results of this research have been truly inspiring!

Eudaemonia Equine Connections, Inc.® are so proud to be part of the movement to bring equine-assisted mental health to those who need it most. However, we currently have a wait-list of over a dozen clients and their families seeking services, and so we are desperately wanting to meet that need with accessibility by expanding our equine facility and therapy herd, and affordability by sponsoring sessions for low-income clients and their families.
